The Only Exception

PIerre simply nodded quietly and took whatever the vegetarian meal was onto his tray. "Payne loathes me..." He sighed quietly.He was seriously afraid to be in the same house with Payne.

Mike just got some tater tots and a water and paid for their lunches. He sighed. "I know," was all he said.

"Maybe I should just go home..." Pierre said quietly as they sat down. The only problem with that plan was Mike. He felt too strongly for Mike to leave. But Payne was making him miserable here.

Mike felt his heart fall into his stomach, but kept his composure. "If you want to," he said quietly, looking at his tray.

"But it would hurt too much to leave you..." Pierre said quietly. "I wish this wasn't so hard." He whispered, running a hand through his hair.

Mike nodded. "I understand," he said softly.

"I... I lo..." Pierre struggled to say. "I... Je t'aime." He said, hoping Mike understood.

Mike looked at him. "Um," was all he could say. He didn't understand what he was saying.

Pierre bit his lip and put his hand over Mike's heart, trying to form the words 'I love you'. "Here. I..." He trailed off, looking at Mike, his eyes begging him to understand that he loved him. He loved Mike so damn much.

"Love you?" Mike supplied, his heart beat speeding up a bit at the thought.

Pierre nodded. "Oui... I love you..." He whispered slowly, not wanting to botch the important words.

Mike heart skipped a beat and his breath caught in his throat. He opened his mouth to say something, but found himself speechless.

Pierre blushed. "I.... you don;t have to say it back. I just wanted to tell you how I feel. I am in love with you, Mike Miz...anin." He said, trying to pronounce his name correctly.

Mike smiled and kissed him. "I love you, too, Pierre," he said when they pulled away.

Pierre smiled softly. "Good." He breathed, resting his hand on Mike's knee. "You are a gorgeous man." He whispered, his hand stroking Mike's jaw as his blue eyes took in Mike all over again.

Mike smiled a bit. "Thanks," he said. "You aren't too bad lookin' yourself," he teased.

Pierre chuckled. "It's because I'm French." He said with a smile.

Mike chuckled. "Sure, let's go with that," he smiled.

Pierre chuckled. "Mike..if you don't mind me asking, who was your first?" He asked, looking into Mike's eyes and hoping not to strike a cord.

Mike looked at him and shrugged. "Some guy I met at a party my freshman year. I was drunk and horny, he was drunk and horny. It was painful, but he wasn't rough, so it wasn't totally bad," he said.

Pierre nodded. "My father would murder me if he found out I had sex. Which I don't understand because 15 is the legal age of consent." He grumbles.

Mike chuckled. "He's a parent. We'll never understand until we have kids of our own," he said.

Pierre nodded. "I suppose. But... he cannot find out." He said lowly. He wasn't exaggerating when he said his father would hurt him if he came back not a virgin.

"I'm not gonna tell him, babe. Don't worry," Mike said, his heart dropping a bit at the thought of him leaving in a year.

Pierre bit his lip. "I wish I could take you home with me." He chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "I do not want to leave you..." He whispered.
