The Risk of Loving Someone

Mike limped backstage, his body incredibly sore from what had just occurred. He honestly couldn't believe it. There were no signs that that anything was wrong. Why did this happen? What did he do wrong?

Alex had beaten him up. Alex Riley had beaten up his lover, Mike Mizanin. But why? What did Mike do wrong that pushed Alex over the edge? He didn't even know Alex was near the edge.

He sighed as he went into his locker room. Alex had gotten his stuff and left. Mike knew this because his stuff was no where in sight. Mike also saw a few things that he had given to Alex. He couldn't believe it. Alex left him...

Alex was gone. He loved Mike... well he thought he did. The bitching, the complaining, the bossiness... Alex had suffered in silence for a long time. He stayed quiet about his anger because he knew how sensitive and defensive Mike could get.

Part of him didn't wanna let go and hurt his baby. But another, much stronger part told him Mike got what he deserved. He just couldn't take it anymore. He had had enough od Mike. Yeah, Alex might miss that bright smile, and happy blu eyes but...

It just wasn't worth it. Alex sighed, shaking his head as he left the arena. He needed tog et back to the hotel and pack his stuff before Mike returned.

Mike sighed as he walked to the showers, turning on the hot water and stepping under, sighing at the warmth and comfort. So many thoughts were running through his head. Alex was his everything, his life, his world. He loved him more than he loved anything. And he was just letting him go.

That's when he snapped out of it and ran out of the shower, pulling on clothes. He grabbed his stuff and ran out to the car, avoiding and ignoring everyone who got in his way. He got in the car and sped to the hotel, parking and running up to his room. He burst in the door, his eyes wild. "Alex!" he yelled and looked around, hoping to find his ex-lover.

Alex was trying to pack as fast as he could before the door opened. He jumped when he heard Mike. "What Mike?" He asked as he packed. He was leaving. Nothing Mike said would be able to change his mind.

Mike went over to him. "Alex, please don't go. I'll do anything. Everything you tell me to. Please, baby. Don't leave me," he begged Alex, on his hands and knees in front of him. He didn't care about his pride. He just wanted Alex to stay.

Alex closed his eyes and shook his head. "I can't Mike... Look, I lov eyou. But... I just can't take it anymore. And I really don't know if can change. I mean, you tell me you love me then go act like... like a bitch. Mike, I gotta go..." He said, grabbing his things and heading to door.

"Alex, please! I'll change! I can change! Just don't leave me!" Mike cried, sitting back on his heels. He couldn't imagine his life without Alex. Alex meant everything to him. He was the sunshine to his rain, the dessert after his entree. He just couldn't go on with out him.

Alex bit his lip, feeling his heart tug and pull. But he couldn't. "I'm sorry Mike. We need to be apart, at least for now. Bye, Mike." He said quietly and walked out the door, silently closing it behind him.

Mike's heart broke when the door closed. "No," he said quietly before falling to the ground and curling into a ball, tears running down his cheeks in steady streams.

Alex booked himself a new room by himself. His heart hurt bad... but he would get over it. He had to. He needed to move on from Mike, or at least take a break from him. He needed to be away from him.

Mike cried himself to sleep that night, gasping and sniffling like he never had before. He was still on the floor, but he could care less. His heart was just ripped from his chest, and now he didn't know how, nor did he have the inspiration to go on.

Alex had a heavy heart, but he had to go on. He forced himself up the next morning, got ready and packed. His flight was early in the morning. He sighed. He would miss traveling with Mike but... he tried push his little blond lover out of his head.

Mike woke up the next morning, sore and with a pounding headache. He groaned, getting up only to climb into bed and cuddle under the covers. He didn't plan on doing anything today. Again, he closed his eyes and drifted back off into sleep.

Alex was walking through the hotels. He saw many superstars checking out, but he didn't see Mike. He was getting a little worried. But he shrugged it off. Mike shouldn't be his problem anymore.

Mike woke up again about 8 hours later. He sighed, seeing it was 3 in the afternoon. He knew he had to get up. He grudgingly sat up and stretched, getting up and walking into the bathroom to shower and do his daily duties.

Alex went through the motions of boarding the plane, going to the next city with a heavy heart. He tried to push it down... but it was difficult.

When Mike finished getting ready, he headed to the airport. He had called the day before on his way to the hotel, knowing he would want a later flight, which was at 4:30. He looked at the time. 3:50. He sighed and checked in, waiting for his flight to be called. He was seriously depressed.

It was the next show, and Alex would have to go out and face Mike. He hoped they could keep it together for their segmant. Alex would be fine, but he worried about Mike. He shouldn't worry... Mike wasn't his problem anymore... Right?

Mike's flight was called and he sighed softly, getting up and going through everything before climbing onto the plane and sitting down in his seat. He pulled out his iPod and put in his earbuds, blasting music so he could ignore the world. Before he knew it, he was asleep.

Mike was woken by someone shaking him. His eyes fluttered open and he saw a flight attendant.

"Sir, we've landed. You must exit the plane," she said after he had pulled out his earbuds. He nodded and stood up, grabbing his carry on and walking off the plane. He walked in the airport and went to baggage claim, grabbing his stuff and walking out. By the time, he had about half an hour until Raw, so he decided to head to the arena.

When he arrived, he went to his locker room and started to change.

Alex was at the arena, the clock seemingly ticking slower than usual. It was almost showtime, and than meant he'd face Mike. He had to admit, he missed his loud, gorgeous, blond lover. But he knew, hopefully, than they were better off without each other.

He got his gear on before making his way to the gorilla. On his way he bumped into a smaller body. He bit his lip when he saw Mike.

"Hey." He said softly, and almost nervously.

Mike looked at Alex, his mind flooded with things he wanted to say to Alex. He didn't say anything, though. He just shook his head, looked down and walked away, his heart aching. He couldn't talk to Alex, not unless he had to. He just hurt too much.

Alex didn't say anything else and let his ex go. He ran a hand through his short hair and waited for his theme to hit. When it id, he walked out, greeted by the crowd's chants of his name. He grabbed a mic and talked about Mike, saying how he was done with his shit. No longer his side kick, and bending backwards for him. How he was done with Mike. A lot of what he said hand truth, though he felt a bit of guilt.

Mike went out after Alex was done speaking, ignoring the boos, putting on his game face and bashing Alex right back. He stayed at the top of the ramp, not wanting to be near Alex until necessary. He didn't even want to wrestle the younger man for fear that he would break out in tears.

Alex glared at Mike. "Well you talk a lot of talk Miz, but cut the crap and get your ass in the ring right now. Fight me, like a man!" He barked, in his character and not knowing what reaction Mike would have to wrestling him.

Mike growled, anger from both his persona and how he felt about what Alex did to him. He walked down to the ring, sliding in and glaring at Alex. The bell ring and he started his attack on Alex, letting out his frustrations on the man who deserved it.
